Mobile Application & Learner Portal
1. Introduction and Acceptance
Welcome to HANAD, the Digital Entrepreneur's Application developed by Iskills Info Technologies on behalf of ADRA Somalia as part of the EU-funded e-WINS Entrepreneurship Project. HANAD is a mobile learning platform designed to empower women entrepreneurs across Somalia, delivering entrepreneurship education in Somali (Maxaa Tiri), Somali (Maay), English, and Arabic.
By downloading, installing, registering on, or using the HANAD mobile application or the associated Learner Portal (collectively, "the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Platform.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("Learner" or "User") and Iskills Info Technologies ("We", "Us", or "Our"), operating under the governance of ADRA Somalia and oversight of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Federal Republic of Somalia.
2. Eligibility and Registration
2.1 Who May Use the Platform
The HANAD platform is intended for women entrepreneurs and programme participants enrolled under the e-WINS Project in the following geographic corridors:
- Juba River Corridor
- Shabelle River Corridor
- Somaliland Corridor
Access may also be granted to mentors, facilitators, content administrators, and authorised Ministry and ADRA personnel for oversight and governance purposes.
2.2 Account Registration
To access learning content, you must register for an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
- Maintain the confidentiality of your login credentials
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorised access to your account
- Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts found to contain false registration information.
3. Permitted Use of the Platform
3.1 Learning and Educational Activities
The Platform is provided exclusively for educational purposes. You are permitted to:
- Enrol in and complete entrepreneurship courses and modules
- Download content for offline use on your personal device
- Participate in peer discussion forums and mentor communications
- Complete assessments, quizzes, and earn certificates of completion
- Submit support requests through the in-app Help Desk
3.2 Prohibited Activities
You must not:
- Share, reproduce, or distribute course content outside the Platform without prior written authorisation
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or modify any part of the application software
- Use the Platform for commercial purposes, advertising, or spam
- Upload, post, or transmit any content that is unlawful, abusive, threatening, defamatory, or discriminatory
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the system, other accounts, or backend infrastructure
- Interfere with the security, integrity, or availability of the Platform
- Impersonate any person, organisation, or HANAD staff member
4. Content and Intellectual Property
4.1 Ownership of Platform Content
All educational content, curricula, audio narrations, translations, software code, and related materials on the Platform are the intellectual property of ADRA Somalia and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of Somalia, developed under the e-WINS Project funded by the European Union. Iskills Info Technologies has transferred full Intellectual Property rights to ADRA Somalia and the Ministry upon completion of development, retaining no royalty claims.
4.2 Your Use of Content
Learners are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use Platform content for personal, non-commercial educational purposes only. You may not reproduce, republish, sell, licence, or distribute content without express written permission from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry or ADRA Somalia.
4.3 User-Generated Content
Any content you contribute through peer discussion forums or help desk submissions remains your responsibility. By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive licence to use, display, and moderate that content for platform governance and educational purposes. You warrant that your contributions do not infringe third-party rights and comply with these Terms.
5. Certificates and Assessments
Upon successful completion of designated courses and passing the associated assessments, Learners will receive a digital Certificate of Completion. Certificates are:
- Automatically generated and verifiable using a unique certificate ID
- Issued under the branding of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and ADRA Somalia
- Downloadable as a PDF from within the Platform
Certificates represent completion of training modules and do not constitute formal academic qualifications unless expressly stated otherwise by the Ministry.
6. Offline Access and Synchronisation
The HANAD Platform supports offline-first access, allowing Learners to download content and continue learning without an active internet connection. Progress recorded offline will be automatically synchronised to the server the next time your device connects to the internet. You acknowledge that:
- Offline functionality is subject to available device storage
- Progress data flagged as pending synchronisation may not reflect in your learner dashboard until a connection is re-established
- We are not liable for data loss resulting from device failure before synchronisation occurs
7. Community and Mentorship Conduct
The Platform includes peer networking, discussion forums, and mentor-learner communication features. All users must adhere to the following community standards:
- Treat all participants with respect and dignity
- Refrain from posting content that is harmful, offensive, discriminatory, or sexually inappropriate
- Respect the cultural context and values of fellow learners across all corridors
- Report inappropriate content or behaviour through the in-app Help Desk
All community interactions are subject to moderation. Mentors are professionally assigned to specific learner cohorts and must comply with the mentor code of conduct. We reserve the right to remove content and suspend users who violate community standards.
8. Help Desk and Support
A tiered support system is available to all Learners through the in-app Help Desk. Support requests are categorised and handled as follows:
- Priority 1 – Critical (e.g. platform outage): acknowledged within 1 hour, resolved within 4 hours
- Priority 2 – High (e.g. feature malfunction): acknowledged within 4 hours, resolved within 24 hours
- Priority 3 – Standard (e.g. account queries, content issues): acknowledged within 24 hours, resolved within 5 business days
Support tickets are tracked and monthly SLA reports are submitted to ADRA Somalia and the Ministry for accountability purposes.
9. Platform Availability and Modifications
We strive to maintain continuous Platform availability. However, we do not guarantee uninterrupted access and reserve the right to:
- Perform scheduled maintenance that may temporarily restrict access
- Update, modify, or remove features and content as part of monthly functional upgrades
- Suspend access in the event of a security incident or technical emergency
All significant updates follow a change management procedure, including approval by ADRA Somalia and regression testing prior to deployment. Users will be notified of material changes where possible.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Iskills Info Technologies, ADRA Somalia, and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of income, or business interruption.
The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available." We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of course content for any particular purpose.
11. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the Platform at any time for breach of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or conduct detrimental to other users or the project mission. Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall remain in effect.
12. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Somalia. For matters involving the EU-funded e-WINS Project, applicable EU regulations and the grant agreement governing the project may also apply.
